Hand Hewn Hideaway
THE CABIN
A spacious three bedroom cabin sitting on two and half acres of land, Hand Hewn Hideaway is three levels of luxury and family fun that sleeps up to 16.
On arrival, you won't be able to miss the front porch decked out with swings, picnic tables, and a rocking chair. Off to the side is a hammock and a fire pit for roasting s'mores, and just a few steps down is a small pond.
Inside, you'll enjoy the classic log cabin aesthetic with entirely updated furnishings and high end finishes. Starting at the main level, guests will enjoy the beautifully decorated living room with two couches, a leather chair, wood burning fireplace, and 65 inch flatscreen TV.
The dining table and kitchen are just around the corner from the living room. The dining table seats up to 10, with additional seating for 3 at the breakfast counter off the kitchen. The kitchen is perfect to cook for the whole family - granite countertops (tons of counter space!), all stainless steel appliances, a deep farmhouse sink, and stocked with plates, utensils, pots, and pans. There's a half bathroom too for convenience!
The master bedroom is also located on the main level and includes a king-size bed, flatscreen TV, access to the side deck, and and an incredible en suite bathroom: copper his and her sinks, a standing shower, and private copper bathtub to soak and relax. Attached to master bedroom is a nursery with a crib for any families traveling with a little one 🙂
The upper and side deck are also accessible from the main level. The upper deck is on top of the front porch and opens up to forest views with 4 rocking chairs, a swing, and a cute table for small bites. The side deck is where the hot tub is located; there are also rustic patio furnishings to sit back and enjoy: a swing, bench, and two chairs.
The other two bedrooms can be found upstairs. The first guest bedroom has a king-size bed, flatscreen TV, and en suite bathroom with a jetted tub and standing shower with a river stone floor. The second guest bedroom has a queen-size bed.
On the bottom floor, there's a family room with a two couches (one that pulls out as a sleeper sofa), 65 inch TV, XBOX, board and table games, and kids room with four bunk beds: twin over twin. The table games are perfect for some friendly family fun whether it be a game of pool, foosball, or air hockey. The third bathroom is also downstairs and has a standing shower.
Outside the bottom floor is the front porch with all the swings, picnic tables, and rocking chair.

What people are saying about this property
Excellent! Everything was perfect!
Excellent communication and outstanding property.
Our visit was wonderful! The cabin was clean and beautiful. Host was very helpful and responsive.
I only had 2 issues: 1 wasp inside the cabin 2 the room that had the bunk beds had a leak
The cabin was excellent! The bedroom/bathroom arrangement worked great for our family and we had everything we needed! Our only complaint was the driveway to the cabin. We have a large 4wd SUV and the driveway was treacherous at best. I know it's on the side of a mountain, but maybe some guardrails on the side or reflective sticks to help when you come up at night. Maybe also include the info about the driveway in your listing. Otherwise, we loved the house. It's beautifully decorated and the kitchen is well supplied with all that we needed. Thanks for sharing your home with us for the week.
Had a great time but just wanted to let y’all know about some things incase you were not aware. 1. There were a lot of wasps in the house in the kitchen and the upstairs bathroom 2. Chipmunks seem to live in the house we could always here them and I have a video of them entering and exiting if you would like to see it 3. The downstairs pull out mattress had some issues Nothing I’m mad about, I had a great time. Just a heads up!!
First impression was concerning with the lack of landscaping, or just general upkeep of the driveway-branches, weeds, shrubbery. Having driven our new SUV that we got just last month I was cringing. Then after the storm it was so much worse. Hubby and I walked the hill and worked on removing the more intrusive ones. I would think 7 people staying for 5 days could benefit from more than 2 garbage bags, 6 wash cloths, and the 3 baby soaps provided. Or I would prefer to at least be given the heads up of amenities that were, in fact, provided, so I could plan accordingly. I also couldn’t imagine that a cabin in the heart of TN, would not have a nice sized Pitcher to make, and keep Sweet (an unsweet) TEA. The overall cleanliness of the place was just not what we have experienced in the past with other cabins. I realized there was an issue with the former tenants, but I believe our party would’ve preferred waiting another 30-60 minutes to effectively clean and remove the large amounts of food particles around vents, under couches and worse, IN the living area couch cushions. The swings and porches were so lovely-I think we all tried them out, but website pictures showed other options with a hammock in the yard, and 2 more adult appropriately sized chair swings- which were not available. The power outage was unavoidable with tree down, so offering another available cabin with appropriate number of rooms and beds, aside from working electricity for air conditioning, and working kitchen to not lose food purchased the day before was Very Much Appreciative. Aside from family member that needed power for medical equipment he must use at night. We loved and named are daily visiting bear, Pearl. She loved the apples and pears. But honestly none of us got close enough to determine male/female-LOL! We overall had a wonderful time and it’s always so nice to come to a Smokey Mountain getaway.
